Do you want to take your photography out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary? Join Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures and have a great time while honing your seeing and imaging skills and learning about the magic of light to make wonderful photographs.

We pride ourselves on giving you the tools, both in the field and in the classroom, that will help you create better photographs, whether you are a seasoned photographer or relatively new to this field. With a maximum six-to-one ratio of students to instructors, you can be assured of lots of individual attention, help, and critiques, both in the field and in the classroom.

We are proud to report that some of our students have won awards and been accepted into juried shows! We are also excited to have been featured on the websites of Travel + Leisure and Topsail Island, a popular east-coast destination, as well as in the October 2008 print issue of Outdoor Photographer.

Our workshops include the following:
  • Maximum 6-to-1 ratio students to instructors;
  • Welcome reception;
  • Our Basic Principles of Photography booklet with lots of tools to help you improve your photography;
  • Early-morning and late-afternoon shoots;
  • Mid-day processing and tweaking your images with Lightroom 2 and Photoshop;
  • Printing element with step-by-step instructions for successfully printing from Lightroom;
  • Lots of individual instruction in both the field and classroom;
  • Critiques, both individual and group;
  • Discussions on various aspects of photography, including digital workflow;
  • Final group critique and show;
  • A large, archival Epson print to take home with you; and
  • Lots of fun and frivolity througout!

In our print element, we'll give you instructions on how to successfully turn your favorite digital images into beautiful prints through the latest version of Lightroom 2. For those who want to learn more sophisticated printing with soft proofing in CS3 and CS4, we offer private printing workshops with our printing guru, John Pagliuca.

Remember, our tag line reads, "Create great photos; make great prints!"

If you have not already done so, check our FAQs for questions you may have as well as equipment and installed downloads you need to bring to the workshop including, if necessary, the free, 30-day, trial versions of the Adobe products.

Margo and Arnie
will show you how to strengthen and expand your photographic vision using the wonderful magic of light to enhance your images. As well-seasoned pros, they really enjoy sharing their expertise of how to create great images and process them through a logical work flow. They make learning fun in visually-rich locations here and abroad while they guide you toward becoming a better photographer.

Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures has been around since the early 80s, and with our instructors' great track record and experience teaching, you will learn a lot! While we may sometimes photograph with you, our first commitment is always to give our participants the most rewarding photographic and learning experience possible.
