Through the Brooks Institute Weekend Workshops, we offer rigorous, succinct educational opportunities to amateur photographers, professional photographers, and educators and also provide a valuable forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
All courses are taught at the Institute's fully-equipped facilities in Santa Barbara, California, led by top professionals in their field, and designed for the advanced and intermediate amateur and professional photographer.
Topics include portrait, landscape, architectural and high-speed stop-action photography, lighting, virtual reality, and digital video. Software training workshops include Adobe Photoshop and Page Maker.
The annual Brooks in a Week workshop is for advanced, intermediate and/or professional photographers who would like to brush up on basic skills, learn some new tricks of the trade or learn the latest technology in the field. Each day focuses on a different topic taught by recognized professionals in the field, and provides extensive hands-on instruction. Three graduate credits are available.
The popular five-day 9-5 workshop is especially designed for high school students interested in learning more about the exciting world of photography. Students go out on assignment and take pictures, shoot in the studio with studio lighting and models, and also work inside the digital lab on basic techniques. A showing of students' work concludes the week.
Workshops fill up quickly and enrollment is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.
