Greek Island Photography Workshops - Greece and San Francisco
Greek Island Photography and Glenn Steiner invite you to explore the Cyclades, Greek islands born of fire and mystery. From the heights of ancient Thira to the lava fields of Akrotiri, we chase the elusive Greek light. To enhance your experience, our workshops are limited to small groups. Critiques using digital projectors will be available. All questions, be they of digital or traditional silver-based technologies, are welcomed, encouraged and answered.
'In Search of the Real Greece I' Summer 2009 (6/5-6/11/2009) We tour beautiful Santorini, pristine Thirasia and rarely visited Anafi "In Search of the Real Greece." We'll explore the traditional villages, where Greeks have thrived, prayed, laughed and danced for centuries. Participants will touch on the development of their artistic vision with two workshop critiques of their work, as we explore the interior and exterior worlds of photography. Night photography is encouraged, but balanced with nocturnal explorations of the kafenions and tavernas. All formats digital and film are welcomed.
'Sail The Wine Dark Sea' Summer 2009 (6/14-6/20/2009) Explore the Greek islands of Kos, Kalymnos, Leros, Lipsi, Patmos and Marathi aboard a 51 foot yacht. Imagine a new port each day, as we sail and photograph along the fabled Greek Dodekanesa, shooting lesser known villages in search of the perfect Greek light. Instruction in CS-3 Bridge and Photoshop will be given. All formats digital and film are welcomed.

'In Search of San Francisco II' Summer 2009 (8/22/09-8/28/09) We tour San Francisco, Carmel, Point Lobos and the lands north of the Golden Gate, exploring the small, intimate areas, rich in atmosphere, rarely trespassed by tourists in search of Northern California. Participants will touch deeply into the development of their artistic vision with two workshop critiques of their work, and multiple sessions in Adobe Photoshop CS-4 and Bridge CS-4. Night photography is encouraged, but balanced with nocturnal explorations of the coffee shops and fine restaurants. All formats digital and film are welcomed.
