International Center of Photography (ICP)

International Center of Photography (ICP)

Located in the heart of New York City, the International Center of Photography (ICP) is a museum and school dedicated to exploring the possibilities of the photographic medium through acclaimed exhibitions, education programs, and more. Students coming to ICP have access to unparalleled resources: courses designed for every level, state-of-the-art facilities, a distinguished faculty, the museum, collections, library, lecture series, special events, and most important, a community of passionate photographers, making ICP the ideal place to explore your creative direction.

Each term ICP coordinates travel programs to abroad and domestic destinations that photographically inspire individuals. ICP’s Travel Programs features trips to Europe, Asia, and South America. A trip to Buenos Aires and Los Glaciers National Park, Argentina is scheduled for March 1-9, 2008.

ICP offers three full-time programs, two certificates, and a MFA in Advanced Studies.

The General Studies and Documentary and Photojournalism Certificate Program, accelerates the practice of photography in an atmosphere of cooperative learning and professional skills development. It encourages students to explore and define their own goals, while assisting them in situating their work. The program embraces contemporary and historic fine arts, documentary or editorial contexts, as well as fashion, anthropological, scientific, and other photographic practices.

The ICP-Bard Program in Advanced Studies: MFA, aims to combine the best aspects of apprenticeship, fieldwork, studio critique, and classroom training, blending traditional and innovative approaches in order to provide a master's degree experience unlike any other.

Please visit ICP FullTime Programs for more information on application processes and deadlines.
