The culmination of a decade of cooperation with Prague's Charles University, the Prague Summer Program offers the opportunity to be mentored by some of the leading names in world photography. The eager novice and seasoned professional alike are mentored with equal seriousness and respect. For the month of July participants are members of a unique and vital cultural community.
Program Each week participants visit the studios of world-renowned Czech and Slovak photographers who open their lives to reveal the relation of technique to vision and how the historical and cultural contexts of their lives are expressed through their images. We visit prestigious collections, meet with local curators, and travel on weekends to villages and cities across Bohemia and Moravia.
Faculty The 2008 faculty includes Jan Pohribny, whose beginning and advanced workshops will focus on creative process, the act of composing and capturing images. Studio visits and some classroom instruction will be provided by renowned Czech photograpers Miro Svolik, Jindrich Streit, and Vaclav Jirasek.
